Question about the show Rizzoli and Isles?

I wanted to start watching the new tv show Rizzoli and Isles however
im currently reading the surgeon by Tess Gerritsen (the first novel in
the Rizzoli series) if I watch the pilot episode will it spoil the
book for me ?
